Alliance Engineering Group completed the works of the Bemax Resources Mining Dredge in November 2005. Alliance completed the project within 7 months with over 50 staff working on the project at any one time.
The project involved a complete overhaul of 1100 tonne mining dredge in Broken Hill.
The project involved the following work:
Repair of damaged Bow pontoon sections from a previous operation
Extension to the two Bow Pontoons to incorporate the new design
Extension to cutting head boom (ladder) to incorporate the new design
Manufacture of new bearing / bushes, shafts, sleeves, and guide wheels for the spud carriage axles
Modification to spud carriage axle.
Extension of the 40m Spuds to incorporate the new design .
Refurbish and modify 145 Floatline Pontoons to the new design.
Grit Blast and Paint all surface internal and external surfaces of the dredge up to 520 micron
Refit the hydraulic room onto the centre cross of the dredge
Assist in the final assembly operation at the mine site
Manufacture and supply pontoons for the concentrator
